Restocked: Iron Heart DC4001

For those of you who missed out on the first batch of Iron Heart DC4001: here's your chance to get a pair! We think these jeans (the first pair of jeans DC4 has designed together with Iron Heart) don't really need a further introduction anymore. Here are some details though in case you don't know about them:

• 21oz denim made from 100% Zimbabwe cotton
• Slim straight fit
• Sanforized denim (meaning they won't shrink when you wash/soak them)
• A huge leather patch with the DC4 logo
• Very sturdy construction with thick polycore thread
• Of course, they're made in Japan

For the full list of details (trust us, it's a long list!), see them in our online shop and order your pair if you haven't already. At the moment we still have sizes 30, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 36 left.
Get your pair here. Shipped for free, worldwide!

Japanese Denim Factory Tour with DC4 - Part 2

Here's part 2 of our Factory Tour, this time leading to a company that does the distressing of premium jeans. Sure, we might not sell pre-distressed jeans, but it was cool to have a look around. The workers there were very skilled and created some pretty authentic looking fades using different techniques that you can see in the pictures. The factory processes jeans for big names like Edwin, Lee, PRPS and Iron Heart and has been operational since 1965.

Takayuki Akachi's Traveling Denim Documentary

According to Takayuki, a Japanese film maker, this is a documentary in which 'denim walks freely in the world, meets people, changes and fades'. In the short film you see a girl wearing a pair of Levi's jeans in over 50 countries in two years time. Pretty relaxed background music too if you ask me.

Japanese Denim Factory Tour with DC4 - Part 1

On our last trip to Japan we visited some amazing denim factories. Together with the Iron Heart crew we went to a couple facilities, each one had a different purpose. We were allowed to shoot some images and there that we could share with the denim lovers back home. This is part 1, we'll post pictures of the other factories in the coming days.

The Shipwrights.

Lee Jeans, a denim company that needs no further introduction, donated a couple pairs of unwashed denim to the employees of a shipwright company. The guys build so called 'Botters', typical Dutch boats used for fishing. Dutch photographer Joachim Baan went to the working spot in Spakenburg, a small town in the Netherlands, to capture the true essence of work wear. Check out the results in these amazing photo's. This is how denim is supposed to be worn.

Check out the full set of pics on his Flickr. Fancy a pair of Lee jeans yourself? We got a couple pairs of Lee 101Z (made by The Real McCoys) left. Check them out in our online store.

New in our line-up is the 3009, a straight model which is slightly tapered.

Along with the jeans, we also received new wallets, which should be interesting for those of you who don't fancy the large-sized ones.

We also got some smaller goodies, like wallet ropes in kangaroo leather and silver eight hooks, plus a restock of the horseshoe keyrings.

Super Black Fade To Gray

Just in: Iron Heart Beatle Busters in a very special denim, that will fade from a super intense black to gray. The name Super Black fade to Gray (SBG, as you can see on the leather patch) kinda sounds like a Japanese rock band, which is actually a great thing.

It's a slim straight model with a slight taper from the knee down, making sure this is one of the most flattering cuts Iron Heart has produced so far. And we hear you thinking: 'I'm not getting a pair of super heavy black jeans with the summer being just moments away', but remember Iron Heart denim isn't that hard to wear during the warmer times. The denim isn't woven very tightly, so your legs will still be able to breathe!

Of course this pair also features great details, like an extra big leather patch that will age beautifully, herringbone pocket lining and a hidden knife pocket in the front left hand pocket.

Get your pair here, we got the new Beatle Buster in sizes 30, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 36.

The Wizard of 21OZ

Here's the pair of Iron Heart DC4001's worn by Steffen, who's also a competitor in the Heavyweight Denim Championship organized on the denim forum Superfuture. These jeans will be worn on almost a daily basis until at least February 2013, which means you can expect a lot more updates on these jeans over time!

In these pictures Steffen has worn his jeans for 3 months, and they haven't been soaked or washed yet. We're very impressed with the wear already, the denim looks very crispy and the fades are sharper than you'd expect on Iron Heart denim. Do you have pics or your own pair of Iron Heart or any other brand that you'd like to see featured on the blog? Send in some pics with a description and we'll show 'em to the world!
