This pair of Iron Heart 634SR's have been worn for 8 months. They got a soak when they were new, so the extremely heavy 23oz denim wouldn't destroy the threads holding the jeans together. After 8 months, they received a hand wash.
The Iron Heart 634SR was created to celebrate Iron Hearts 5 year anniversary. As you can see in these pics, they fade in a very typical way, different than the regular 21oz denim.

Belts - Atelier LaDurance vs. Iron Heart
Here are two of my favorite belts: a 4,5 year old Atelier LaDurance and an Iron Heart belt, worn for a little over a month. The ALD is hand made in France from saddle leather. I think the patina it has developed over the years is just stunning. It started out vegetable tanned, while the Iron Heart wasn't tanned at all. Of course the Iron Heart is made in Japan, from thick cowhide leather. Check out more pics after the break.

DC4's Denim Hall of Fame
Over here at DC4 we're always drooling over beautifully faded jeans. Whether they are Japanese repro's or the real vintage deal, we love some great hues of blue. If you got a pair of jeans you'd like the world to see, please send some clear pictures to blog@dc4.de and we'll feature them on the blog!
Please make sure the pictures represent the true color of the jeans as best as you can. Also provide some information about how long they've been worn, how many times you've washed them and of course the brand and model.

A different take on jeans
I got a great present on Christmas morning: a painting of me and my girlfriend by Quint Clyde (the birds are his signature piece of work). Of course, I'm pictured wearing jeans. Did any of you get denim related gifts?

This is the trailer to 'Jeans, a faded blue plaet' by Thierry Aguila. It stars Ryo and Hiro, the couple that created Ooe Yofukuten. And take a look at the hands of the Japan Blue Group CEO!

Dinner with Dry Bones, Self Edge and Ironheart.co.uk
On our Japan trip we had a great dinner with the guys from Dry Bones. Although it was a dinner officially, it’s safe to say this was a Japanese equivalent of the German Oktoberfest. Also, the denim otaku couples from Self Edge, Kiya and his wife Demitra, and Giles and his wife Paula from Ironheart.co.uk were there! Pics were taken at a restaurant in Tokyo.
Minetoshi and Daniel. It's pretty clear in which culture beer has played an important role for a longer time.

Minka: a farmhouse in Japan
"Minka is a short documentary film about a remarkable Japanese farmhouse and the memories it contains. In 1967, an American journalist and his adopted Japanese son rescued the ancient house from the snow country of Japan, and their lives were forever changed. Minka is an intimate story about place, architecture, memory and the meaning of home." Have a look at the trailer:
Faded jeans: Pure Blue Japan XX-008
Here's a fine example of a pair of Pure Blue Japan's non-slubby jeans, worn for a year. It's a slim straight model, made out of 13.5oz denim. As you can see, PBJ can also produce amazing vintage fades.
